CONCERTI DEL CONSERVATORIO DI MUSICA "FRANCESCO MORLACCHI" DI PERUGIA
The "Francesco Morlacchi" Conservatory of Music in Perugia is the only State Institution of High Artistic Musical Education present in Umbria. It counts on the professionalism of 106 faculty members and more than 600 students enrolled in the institutional courses that grant three-year (First Level) and two-year specialist (Second Level) degrees. There is also a propaedeutic course of study, which takes care of the training of younger students for subsequent access to institutional courses. Teaching subjects include courses for all instruments. There is no shortage of New Music Technologies (Electronic Music) department equipped with a technologically advanced laboratory. Instrumental practice is complemented by theory and ensemble subjects such as Music Theory, Harmony, History of Music, Ensemble Music and from Chamber, Symphony Orchestra, Orchestra from Chamber, Choir and Children's Choir. Finally, the educational offer is enriched by the possibility of taking free courses, freed from traditional and institutional paths, open to all without age limits, which can be accessed by a simple aptitude interview. The Conservatory's entire teaching and music production activities are extensively documented at www.conservatorioperugia.it. Since November 2013 it has been directed by M° Piero Caraba. Since April 2015, the President of the Conservatory has been Prof. Andrea Sassi.
