BUSK was co-commissioned from The Banff Centre (Banff, Canada), Danceworks (Santa Barbara), the Ringling International Arts Festival, John and Mable Ringling Museum of Art (Sarasota, FL), in collaboration with the Baryshnikov Arts Center (New York, NY). The making of Busk was made possible by the generous support of Danceworks, Santa Barbara, and the Creative Residency Program at The Banff Centre and by the additional support of the Howard Gilman Foundation and The Canada Council for the Arts.

Aszure Barton & Artists, based to New York, is an all-around collective of artists to created for the purpose of developing the imagination and free spirit that are at the core of its constitution. Aszure Barton has earned her esteemed reputation by producing extraordinary choreography for theater and film. In collaboration with her ensemble, she continues to to develop ideas and productions that receive critical acclaim throughout the world. Her creations are performed in Europe, Brazil, Argentina, Australia, Asia, Africa, Canada and the United States.
ASZURE BARTON Born in Canada, she began to tap dancing at the age of three and graduated from the National Ballet School in Toronto. She has danced with celebrated artists such as Mikhail Baryshnikov and with prestigious companies such as Hell′s Kitchen Dance, The National Ballet of Canada, Wendy Osserman Dance Company, Les Ballets Jazz de Montréal. She has created for, among others, Mikhail Baryshnikov, Fang-Yi Sheu, Nederlands Dans Theater, The National Ballet of Canada, American Ballet Theatre, Sydney Dance Company, The Juilliard School, Hubbard Street Dance Chicago, The Martha Graham Dance Company, Les Ballets Jazz de Montréal (for which she was resident choreographer from 2005 to 2008). Her countless creations, which also span film and video installations, include in 2006 the choreography for the to Broadway revival of L′Opera from Three Money directed by Scott Elliott. She is founder and director of Aszure Barton & Artists, an international dance project based to New York. She has been a resident artist at the Banff Centre in Canada and the Baryshnikov Arts Center in New York City. In Alberta, Canada, she was honored as the official Ambassador of Contemporary Choreography. Aszure Barton is also involved in social work, supporting Kenya′s Earth Project: Healing the Rift, for land conservation in Laikipia District (Kenya).
