A tool for the growth and inclusion of the person, the theater in prison elaborated from Giorgio Flamini allows itself a positive outlook: just as there are experiences that destroy and irreparable actions, there are just as many that help humans accept nature and to transform it into something precious. The #SIneNOmine project originated as a theater workshop for the staging of Jean Genet's Special Surveillance , to thirty years after Marco Gagliardo's experience at 25th Festival dei Due Mondi. From 2016 to 2023, the Spoleto Festival has hosted a new production each year: in each project, the #SIneNomine Company is joined by from professional artists, collaborates with actors and students from the Teodelapio theater school, and relies on the professional contributions of Euno Terni for movement and choreography, the AdCantus Ensemble Vocale Choir for musical and singing parts, Studio Flamenco Roma and their respective artistic directors. The Company is supported by the generosity of numerous artists and supported by the Casa di Reclusione, Festival dei Due Mondi, the Francesca, Valentina and Luigi Antonini Foundation, from other local entities. Myth, the central theme of the sixty-seventh edition of Festival dei Due Mondi, is also the protagonist in the show CRETA, where we walk to backwards to the primal void, the dimension of the ancestral deities Nyx, the Fates, Tartarus, Gaia, Uranus. Flamini associates the prisoner with the Minotaur, who moves in a space-time labyrinth, "to which no other action is allowed except that of uniformity, of repetition. A Minotaur who only mirrors himself in an image that sends him back to himself, where his movements are the same as others and are the same every day. A kind of repetitive ritual where every exception remains precisely that." He continues to telling Flamini: "But just as in ritual, the concept of repetition taken to its exasperation can be torn apart by Dionysian intoxication. What road will this outpouring of primordial vitality take? The road of destruction, of unconscious violence as with Minotaur, or that of purification through the most authentic expression of the self?" "Crete" is not only the island of the birth of Zeus, the arrival of Europa and the later birth of Minos, creator with Daedalus of the Minotaur labyrinth: it is also a material that can be molded, but is not indestructible, "it is like human nature in which blows and shocks can cause us to scratch, split, even make us go to pieces."
