A meeting under the banner of solidarity and integration was held on Easter Monday afternoon at at 17.00 at the cloister of St. Peter's which was attended by Paola Macchi, administrative and organizational director of Festival dei Due Mondi, aldermen Luigina Renzi and Agnese Protasi representing Comune di Spoleto, Don Edoardo Rossi, Director of the Diocesan Caritas of Spoleto-Norcia, Mario Lucidi, school director of the Istituto Comprensivo "Spoleto 2," Ninzia Nigro for Europa InCanto, Ukrainian families and children in the area, as well as children from classes participating in the Festival's educational project "Symphonic Dialogues," which will involve schools in the area in next months. The appointment was an opportunity to hand over free of charge to the Ukrainian children and their classes Nunzia Nigro's book on Giacomo Puccini's Turandot, among the materials of the musical path to which they will be able to take part in until to June. The schools participating in the project will be involved with a training meeting, in-depth lessons and workshops to get closer to the knowledge and listening to music, up to the public performance of the aria Nessun Dorma as part of the sixty-fifth edition of the Festival. Finally, in the sign of a supportive Easter, some toys and chocolate eggs were donated to the children present.Paola Macchi, promoter of the project, comments, "It was particularly touching and moving to meet these children and their mothers to give them a moment of joy, but above all to help them concretely both through the proceeds of the Easter concert and thanks to the "Symphonic Dialogues" project, which demonstrates the closeness of the Festival to their community through a path of integration that uses music as a tool for school and social inclusion. The path that these young people will undertake, together with some children from Rome, will take them to the stage of the Spoleto Festival to sing together the Nessun Dorma, Puccini's aria that, in this dark and sad historical moment, also serves as from a warning. "At the end of the meeting, the group went to the Teatro Nuovo Gian Carlo Menotti to attend the charity performance Dialoghi sinfonici - The Symphony no. 5 by Ludwig van Beethoven, the proceeds of which will be entirely donated to the Diocesan Caritas of Spoleto-Norcia, which provides assistance and support to Ukrainian refugee families in the territory of Spoleto. The Europa InCanto orchestra, conducted from Germano Neri, performed the famous notes of Beethoven's Fifth Op. 67, whose peremptory, iconic and dazzling incipit is known worldwide. The audience in the auditorium participated to a completely new experience of listening to symphonic music thanks to the interaction with an actor. The Easter Monday event and the entire project is realized in collaboration with Associazione Musicale Europa InCanto.
