Rafael Candela, born in 1998, is an Italian-Brazilian performer and dance-maker active both in Italy and abroad. He has collaborated with renowned choreographers such as Alexis Vassiliou, Sharon Fridman, Noa Zuk and others. In 2021 he worked with Adrienn Hod for the Venice Biennale's College Teareo project, while in 2022 he received the "DanceWEB" grant at the international dance festival Impulstanz to Vienna. In the same year he collaborated with Massimo Monticelli for the DNA project Choreographic Notes to RomaEuropa. In 2024 she began a collaboration with Dartmouth College in Vermont as part of the DYES Collective. In addition to his work as a performer, he also approaches choreography through personal research that explores movement, urban space and engages the audience.
