LE CONDAMNE A MORT
Le Condamné to mort is the first opera published from Jean Genet in 1942. When the poet was imprisoned to Fresnes for theft, he wrote this long poem that enacts the last night of Maurice Pilorge, a 20-year-old murderer and condemned to death. from some ten years Etienne Daho sings "Sur mon cou," excerpt from thisopera and the meeting with Jeanne Moreau materialized their common desire to record and perform on stage the full version of "Le condamnè à mort," originally set to music from Hélène Martin in 1964.
