The exhibition Fragments of a theatrical journey is the first exhibition stage of a research process aimed at reorganizing the Festival's archives to bring to light documents, photographs, period sketches, costumes and stage furnishings that are true pieces of art made by the skilled hands of the master craftsmen who have followed one another from edition to edition.
The exhibition aims to highlight the fundamental work of the artisans-artists without whom the festival would not have achieved the international prestige that has distinguished it. "This is a first eclectic reconnaissance of costumes selected from the thousands in the festival's warehouse," comments Piero Maccarinelli, curator of the exhibition, "which represents a preview of the work that will be more organically developed in the next years by thematic cycles."
The exhibition will be remounted at the 65th edition of Festival dei Due Mondi (schedule to be determined).
