"Entire Skies" by Ed Begley and Alex Bonney is a sonic journey through the landscape in which the music was recorded. The two decided to capture the rural landscapes of northeast Essex, UK, over the course of a year. Their self-titled debut album was born from improvised jam sessions in a studio. The record was made between September 2021 and June 2022; voice, upright piano, keyboard synthesis, modular synthesis, trumpet and drum machine, as well as to various field recordings of marsh birds and weather. The album is very much influenced by its surroundings, a sense of place that contributes to create a central atmosphere. The impermanence of place adds a melancholic mood to the atmosphere of the music, but to times a more urban, dance-driven aesthetic moves things in a different direction, toward the capital.
