Due Mondi Kids: Festival performances for children and families

It is increasingly dense the proposal of performances and initiatives that Festival dei Due Mondi devotes to children and families. For the preview of the sixty-seventh edition, held to mid-May, the project Music is a Game from kids in collaboration with the musicians of the Orchestra from Camera di Perugia brought 600 children from 37 classes from 10 schools in the area to the Teatro Nuovo Gian Carlo Menotti for two musical performances, with activities inside and outside the classroom. The project continues during the Festival with the two extraordinary performances of the Midday Concerts reserved for families scheduled for July 5 and 12, 2024. Young audiences will be able to attend the concerts Histoire du Soldat with music by Igor Stravinsky (July 5 at 4:30 p.m., Stella Auditorium) and Dreams...of a Midsummer Night. with music by Edward Grieg and Felix Mendelssohn (July 12 at 4:30 p.m., Church of St. Agatha) performed by musicians from thePerugia Orchestra from Camera.

Among the events the Festival dedicates to the whole family, the magical vertical dance of Il Posto enchants adults and children with two shows in which architecture becomes a stage and bodies tell stories suspended between heaven and earth. In Vertical Variations - free show that from July 5 to 7 at 12 noon transforms the facade of the buildings on Via Saffi into a stage - and in LoveBar (July 5 and 7 Palazzo Collicola) the notes of the Marco Castelli Small Ensemble accompany the movements of the dancers in a compelling game of gravity, poetry and experimentation.

The Due Mondi Kids section also includes four shows from the La MaMa Spoleto Open review: The Sea Keeps, We Are All Pearls of the Same Ocean by Afshin Varjavandi (June 29,30), Marionettes in Search of Manipulation by Damiano Privitera (July 6, 7), Twice Was Twice by Palazzina Zero (July 13) and a creative workshop on the ancestral fable to curated by Lab Sementi (July 14), all scheduled at Spazio Oberdan.

There is great anticipation for Memory of to fall, the spectacular new creation with which Yoann Bougeois investigates the fall of the human condition. A master of imbalance, suspension and gravity, on Saturday, July 6, Bourgeois brings to Spoleto a show specially designed for Piazza Duomo and suitable for the whole family, thanks to the spectacular evolutions of the dancers performed on a massive structure-stage with music by Hania Rani, one of the most original electronic artists of our time.

The hypnotic universe of Last minute signed by the duo Adrien M & Claire B conquers audiences of all ages thanks to an evocative combination of music, lights and interactive projections. An experience with a strongly ritualistic character that revolves around to a single time-dilated minute, the one that precedes the crossing of the threshold between "before" and "after" (until July 14, Complesso Monumentale di San Nicolò).
