Carlo Cecchi signs the direction of Sarto per signora at the Spoleto Festival. On stage the young talents of the Compagnia dell'Accademia "Silvio d'Amico"
Spoleto, May 22, 2023 - Carlo Cecchi is among the great directors arriving to Spoleto for the sixty-sixth edition of Festival dei Due Mondi: from June 24 to 28 at the Teatrino delle 6 "Luca Ronconi," Cecchi leads the students of the Compagnia dell'Accademia Nazionale d'Arte Drammatica "Silvio d'Amico" in Georges Feydeau's Sarto per signora. Dr. Moulineaux, the protagonist of this hilarious vaudeville, conceals his infidelity in a succession of misunderstandings. In an irresistible stage frenzy, the characters make their entrance - amid twists, subterfuges and lies - revealing the emptiness of values in a society founded only on appearances. The play is a new production of the "Silvio d'Amico" National Academy of Dramatic Art, and is presented as a world premiere. On stage are Anna Bisciari, Lorenzo Ciambrelli, Doriana Costanzo, Marco Fanizzi, Vincenzo Grassi, Ilaria Martinelli, Sofia Panizzi, and Marco Selvatico, with Danilo Capezzani as assistant director, costumes by Maria Sabato and lighting by Camilla Piccioni.
Once again this year the "Silvio d'Amico" Academy renews its presence at the Festival with a rich program of performances and with some of Italy's most successful directors: in addition to to Carlo Cecchi, Antonio Latella signs the direction of Massimo Binazzi's Il Male Sacro, a co-production with the Spoleto Festival premiering (Teatrino delle 6 Luca Ronconi, July 7-9), Massimiliano Civica leads the second-year students of the Acting and Directing courses in an exercise (July 1-3, Sala Frau), and Massimiliano Farau stages William Shakespeare's Tutto è bene quel che finisce bene with the first-year students.
