Antonio Pappano and Barbara Hannigan characters of the year for Classic Voice
Barbara Hannigan and Antonio Pappano, among the stars of the latest edition of Festival dei Due Mondi, were named Person of the Year by Classic Voice magazine.The Canadian soprano and conductor's residency to Spoleto65 saw her take the podium of the Orchestra dell'Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia and interpret Poulenc's heroine in "La Voix Humaine," moving through the complex sounds of John Zorn's "Jumalattaret," to the two appointments with conductor Antonio Pappano, who accompanied her on piano at the Happening musicale-along with clarinetist Alessandro Carbonare-and conducted her in "Knoxville.
