A tribute to Giorgio Strehler (1921-1997) in the centenary of his birth, in which the audience will be guided through the life of a director who revolutionised Italian theatre through autograph letters, theatrical excerpts and rehearsal notes. Andrea Jonasson, Giulia Lazzarini, Pamela Villoresi and Margherita Di Rauso read some of the most important works that the Maestro wrote for his actresses. Additionally, Quartet of Teatro Regio Torino, accompanied on the piano by Carlo Caputo, performs works by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Franz Schubert, Fiorenzo Carpi and Kurt Weill.
Director Lluís Pasqual introduces the show by discussing some of Strehler’s reflections on theatre and its relation to society and history. «We will hear his thoughts», Pasqual says, «and his feelings through the voices he loved, pieces of music that were part of his breath».
