The exhibition Frammenti di un percorso teatrale is the first stage in a research project which will see the Festival’s archives reorganised over the coming years, with the aim of bringing to light documents, photographs, sketches, costumes and props created by the artisans who contributed to previous editions of the festival. The exhibition aims to highlight the fundamental work of the artists without whom the festival would not have achieved the international prestige it enjoys today. «This is a first, eclectic survey of costumes selected from the thousands contained within the festival’s warehouse» Piero Maccarinelli, curator of the exhibition, says. «It is a preview of the work that will be developed organically over the coming years through thematic cycles. It was necessary to restart with optimism after a year and a half of the pandemic, and that is the sense of this first exhibition… fragments of a theatrical journey indeed».
