Cecilia Ceccherini & Alberto Valz Gris
Umru: racconti da un paesaggio idrosociale
Mahler & LeWitt Studios
From the collaboration between artist Cecilia Ceccherini and geographer Alberto Valz Gris comes this project that finds concrete expression in the creation of a large tapestry of interconnected symbols and a sound installation with multiple narratives. At the center of the work is the concept of hydrosocial landscape, a term that describes water as a multifaceted set of human and nonhuman beings, historical transformations and unpredictable futures. Taking the territory of Spoleto as a starting point, the project weaves the stories of the hydrosocial landscape of the Umbrian Valley and outlines the relationships between humans and the environment through the element of water.
