Synopsis

Artist Robin Heidi Kennedy was born in Mexico to Coyoacán from a German mother and Irish father. While still living to Mexico City she began her artistic activity with "portraiture," drawing caricatures in hotel bars in the Zona Rosa to only seventeen years old. Shortly thereafter he arrived in Italy to study sculpture. After finishing her studies, she worked almost a decade in theater and film, between Italy and the U.S., as a set designer artist. She returns to devoting herself to sculpture, which is her main activity, producing works in her studio located in the countryside of Spoleto and in that of Red Hook to Brooklyn.

The monumental terrace dedicated to Jerome Robbins was proposed at Kennedy in 2005 by the Robbins Foundation of New York. This was on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the great choreographer's passing, which fell in 2008. Robbins always carried Spoleto in his heart as his venue of choice, making the presence of a 'opera representing him essential. At that time, the Teatro Nuovo was being restored, and Mayor Brunini enthusiastically welcomed the idea of a to Robbins monument in the city's main theater. This year marks the close of the year dedicated to Jerome Robbins with participation from by many theaters around the world (Primarily theOpera in Paris, and the New York State Theatre at Lincoln Center. July 2008 through July 2009).

to Spoleto, in the Teatro Nuovo, the terrace is dedicated to him with a project consisting of a monumental complex designed and executed by Kennedy, which includes a life-size to bronze statue and a "theatrical bookcase." The three-story bookcase contains 28 figures representing some characters taken from Robbins' best-known ballets and others created especially from him for Spoleto for various editions of Festival dei Due Mondi.

The model of the "theater bookcase" or "theater cabinet " to actual size has already been exhibited at Lincoln Center for the exhibition on the life of Jerome Robbins and is now destined to be installed in the Baryshnikov Arts Center adjacent to the theater named after Jerome Robbins.Artist Robin Heidi Kennedy has worked several times with the Bonomo Gallery, which has followed its progress and development related primarily to sculpture. to Rome in the 1990s two major exhibitions took place at the Bonomo Gallery. In the Bonomo Gallery in Bari there have been repeated exhibitions even recently the working relationship is continuous. His exhibitions devoted mainly to sculpture are accompanied to projects and drawings of rare expressiveness. The "theatrical bookcase" already inserted in the wall of the terrace of the theater, describes with the lightness of dance and the strength of Kennedy's sign some moments of the performances. The statue reproducing the figure of Robbins exudes a special magic because it expresses the plastic tension of the subject together with an inner anxiety of searching into the mystery of the art of dance and its spirituality
