Synopsis

Dino Gavina
In the spring of 2007 Dino Gavina, one of the anomalous fathers of Italian
design, passed away.
Inspirer of design in the most interdisciplinary of ways, he involved architects, designers, writers, musicians, poets and artists in his life.
Gavina, with one of the most beloved entrepreneurial adventures, Simon, brought to life to two well-known design manifestos, such as Ultrarazionale (1968) and Ultramobile (1971)
that are now counted as contemporary history and are now part
of the Estel Group's heritage (2008).

O'dino
From the desire to remember Gavina was born the idea of an event that is not only
celebratory, but that can be an opportunity for a reinterpretation of the intellectual heritage of the Bolognese master.
Material and immaterial projects created specifically for the event and for
enhance, integrate or provoke a different relationship with the objects of the Ultrarazionale and Ultramobile collections.
For the first time, Festival dei Due Mondi in Spoleto is hosting design within its program.

Multimedia Design

The exhibition unfolds through a synaesthetic path designed to stimulate the five senses. Thematic islands, scattered throughout the premises of the Spoleto Fortress, contain installlazioni, magical and engaging, many stories from discover to
tell. The scenario proposes a mysterious path of zoomorphic shells one for each design object confined there. The shell isolates it in an autonomous and obscure habitat
within which the apparent passivity of the object is stimulated by the drama of lighting interventions by Mario Nanni, a master of light, and revitalized from a chosen artist from among designers, musicians, DJs, video game creators, webmasters, writers, copywriters, photographers, set designers, stylists, chefs, graphic designers.

Foodesign
Joelle Paoli, renowned chef, will star in a special coordination of smells, colors, shapes and flavors for the interpretation of design in food.
