Synopsis

The Festival dei 2Mondi meets the world of schools, calling young people to the rediscovery of a cultural identity closely connected to the birth and development of the event. Once again this year, a series of initiatives are proposed to children and young people, structured according to age groups: the "The festival is us" project, theater education courses, school-to-work alternation and promotions on shows dedicated to young people.

In its sixth edition, the "The festival is us" project has as its theme The Discovery of Theater. In continuity with last year, it aims to promote knowledge of the history of the Festival through some of the places and scenic spaces of the city in which, from more than half a century, the event takes place. The aim of the project is to involve the very young and the young to reflect on the inseparable bond that exists between the city of Spoleto, its territory, its community and the Festival. A successful initiative that is an opportunity to rediscover the city through stories and memories, documents and archival material, as well as an opportunity to experience the Festival firsthand and contribute to its realization.

For this edition, Spoleto's Teatro Romano was chosen as the stage for the meetings of the very young participants in the project, to learn, while having fun, about the history, architecture and structure of this evocative site. The Teatro Romano, part of the complex that houses the State Archaeological Museum, is one of the most fascinating places in the city, a natural setting for dance performances during the Festival. Accompanying the young visitors to discover the beauty of the theater are the students of the classical, humanities, art and language high school "Sansi - Leonardi - Volta" of Spoleto, as part of the project "Guides of the territory." Based on the lived experience, the very young students are asked to produce individual or group work within the class, with the help and coordination of teachers, for the creation of works of all kinds and forms: written compositions, graphic, audiovisual and digital works. The award ceremony for the project participants is held on Thursday, July 7 at Teatro Romano.
