IL FESTIVAL SIAMO NOI

Once again this year, the Festival dei 2Mondi meets the world of schools, calling young people to rediscover a cultural identity closely connected precisely to the birth and development of the Spoleto Festival.

The festival is us, in its third edition, is a competition aimed to at all pupils of all levels in the city of Spoleto and to those of all schools in the Region of Umbria. It is an invitation to search through family memories and those of friends to come up with essays that express the lived experience, direct experience or reflection on what the Festival dei 2Mondi has represented and represents for Spoleto and the Umbrian territory.

The Professions of Festivals., the theme of the 2013 edition of the competition, aims to make people reflect on how the different roles of those who work for a Festival have evolved, consolidating over the years, or transforming and giving rise to new skills and professionalism.

Participating pupils should collect interviews, old photographs and documents about the Festival. The research and collection of materials should be followed by individual or group work within the class, with the help and coordination of teachers, to create creative works that can be of all kinds and forms: written compositions, graphic, audiovisual and digital works.

Entries will be reviewed from a Jury composed of the President of the Festival Foundation and Mayor of Spoleto, the Artistic Director of the Festival and from a representative of the Regional School Office.

The award ceremony for the competition winners (Primary School Award, Secondary School Award, Secondary School Award) will be held on Sunday, July 7 at at 9 p.m. before the start of the Mark Morris Dance Group's dance performance at Teatro Romano in Spoleto.
