The traditional Midday Concerts entrusted to the young talents of the Scuola di Musica di Fiesole, with whom the Festival continues the successful collaboration that began last year, and the excellent string ensemble I Solisti di Perugia return to Teatro Caio Melisso.

Scuola di Musica di Fiesole
The Scuola di Musica di Fiesole was founded in 1974 as a free association at opera by Piero Farulli and a group of musicians and music lovers. It has from always emphasized ensemble music: the student began at the age of six to being part of the Crescendo ensemble and then continued with the Orchestra dei Ragazzi,
the Orchestra Vincenzo Galilei and finally the Orchestra Giovanile Italiana, which has had the honor of having conductors such as Abbado, Ferro Muti, Sinopoli, Giulini, and Tate. In addition to the basic courses, the School offers annual master classes with teachers such as M. Tipo, N. Gutman, P. Vernikov, B. Canino, F. Helmerson, G. Corti, M. Postinghel, C. Desderi, the Parma Trio. In 2002 she started the European Quartet Academy in a network with some of the most important European training centers from Vienna to Zurich, from Paris to Helsinki.
In addition to the four distinguished founders, Piero Farulli, Hatto Beyerle, Norbert Brainin, and Milan Škampa, her teachers have been musicians such as G. Kurtág, V. Berlinsky, S. Sciarrino, to.Corghi, C. Coin, M. Stroppa, F. Vacchi. In 1981 it was awarded the I Edition of the Abbiati Prize as the best musical initiative.
In 2004 the Orchestra Giovanile Italiana was awarded the Abbiati Prize of Music Critics as the best musical initiative that has trained thousands of professionals since 1984. In 2005 it received from Carlo Azeglio Ciampi the National President of the Republic Award on the recommendation ofAccademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia and in 2008 the Praemium Imperiale Grant for Young Artists. Andrea Lucchesini is currently Artistic Director of the Fiesole School of Music.

The Soloists of Perugia
Three centuries of music from listen after dark; three masterpieces of the classical repertoire dedicated
to the String Orchestra.
From Mozart's "Little Night Serenade," the spearhead of a timeless classicism and undoubtedly among the most beloved and present pieces in our daily lives; through the enthralling journey into the atmospheres and multifarious colors of the now elegiac, now rhapsodic or passionate moods of the monumental Chaikovsky Serenade; to the refined hues of Elgar's all-English lyricism, "Serenades" are much more than a mere musical genre. They in fact interpret a category of the spirit somehow connected with the quiet pleasantness of living and the most refined sensitivity in the affections consigned to a timeless dimension.
I Solisti di Perugia celebrate this year the tenth anniversary of their artistic activity with enthusiasm,
the contagious energy and unparalleled quality of sound that mark from always their distinctive feature.
