The Biglietti d'oro award for theater was established at the initiative of Agis in 1984 and was held until 1997 first at the Teatro Antico in Taormina, then to Rome, at Teatro Quirino, and finally to Parma, at Teatro Farnese and Teatro Regio. All editions have had wide media coverage and a participation of artists, authors and directors at the highest levels of Italian theater. Also significant was the large audience attendance.After a period of suspension, the "Golden Tickets for Theater" resumed for the 2007 /2008 season, and were held, at the urging of the Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Activities, friday July 11, 2008 at Teatro Romano in Spoleto, to curated by Agis and Eti, in collaboration with Spoleto 51 Festival dei 2 Mondi."Golden Tickets for Theater" are awarded on the basis of the number of tickets sold by theatrical performances, in different genres and for different types of production, distribution and exhibition enterprises, according to the results of the Theater Exchange published by the Journal of Performing Arts, with the collaboration of Siae. The awards are given according to regulationsapproved from a committee, chaired by the Director General of Live Entertainment and consisting of the presidents ofAgis,ETI, SIAE, and the Foundation Festival dei Due Mondi of Spoleto.
