Eleonora Wegher

Born in Verona, Eleonora began studying the piano with Laura Palmieri and graduated with honors at the Bonporti Conservatory of Trento under the guidance of Prof. M. R. Corbolini. Successively, she specialized at the International Piano Academy of Imola “Incontri col Maestro” with M° Leonid Margarius and Anna Kravtchenko and later at the Hochschule fur Musik und Theater “F. Mendelssohn” in Leipzig with M ° A. Meinel and H. M. Schreiber.

Winner of several competitions from a very young age, including the XXIII Edition Muzio Clementi Piano Competition of Florence, the XI Rome International Piano Competition – Seiler Prize, the XIV Franz Schubert International Competition of Ovada, Eleonora has performed with the Haydn Orchestra of Bolzano and Trento, the Classical Orchestra of Alessandria and the Chamber Orchestra of the Teatro La Fenice in Venice.

Eleonora also participated in several masterclasses held by masters such as Vladimir Ashkenazy, Lilya Zilberstein, Joaquin Soriano, Leslie Howard, Menheim Pressler.

Furthermore, she was awarded the First Prize at the Vila de Capdepera International Piano Competition in Palma de Mallorca and at the Gaetano Zinetti International Competition in Sanguinetto, as well as the third Prize at the Delia Steinberg International Piano Competition in Madrid and the Second Prize at the Fausto Zadra International Piano Competition in Abano Terme.

Moreover, Eleonora was invited as a guest to important festivals in Italy and abroad, including the Venerdì Musica of Pistoia, Steinway Society, Amici della Musica and Società del Quartetto of Verona, Dino Ciani Festival of Venice, Milan PianoCity, European Music Festival of Bologna, Philharmonic Society and Santa Chiara Theater of Trento, Philharmonic Hall of Rovereto, Festival Schloss Georgium of Dessau, XIX Leipziger Chopin-Tage of Schneeberg, Seiler Festival of Kitzingen am Main, Martinu Festival of Brno.

Besides, she has collaborated on the musical performances “The Act of Touch” and “Tabulae” with  Jacopo Mazzonelli and Matteo Franceschini , which has been performed at important institutions such as the MART – Galleria Civica di Trento; GAMO Festival – Le Murate Pac in Florence;  ArtCity Bologna – International Museum and Music Library of Bologna; Giovanni Bonelli Gallery – Milan; Veronarisuona Festival – Giardino Giusti, Verona; Blue Lakes Festival 3.0 – the MUSE Science Museum of Trento; Ō FESTIVAL – Roman National Museum, Rome; AngelicA Festival – San Leonardo Theater, Bologna; Jeans Music Festival – Baronial Palace of Caprarica di Lecce; Innovasound Festival – Le Centquatre Theater, Paris.

Additionally, Eleonora has been collecting rare musical keyboards instruments together with the visual artist and performer Jacopo Mazzonelli, with whom she often performs in festivals and concerts. Her collection includes several examples of digitorium, typatune, toy pianos and keyboard percussions.
